St. Croix Video Productions was established in 1987 by Maurice L. Brown. Maurice is a Maine native from Grand Lake Stream, an eastern Washington County community known as a sportsman's paradise. Having been brought up around the lakes and streams in this area, Maurice chose the business name for the beautiful St. Croix River, a natural boundary between the United States and Canada.

Maurice has been a sports lover all of his life and continues to enjoy the energy associated with high school and college sports in Maine. His video business actually evolved from a desire to produce and televise local sports programs for elderly fans and shut ins. This practice became extremely popular and successful. Consistent with Maurice's love of people, creating wedding productions and other social events has provided a working environment that is always positive and friendly.
